Description
The Macedonia Loops consist of 3 interconnected loops. The trails total approximately 7 miles, but many interesting combinations are possible. These are 100% singletrack ranging from easy to difficult if you include the ladder rides, ladder drops, log rides, dirt jumps and natural rock drops. Most of the challenging obstacles are located in the center of loop 2 and have standard bypass routes. You simply cannot get lost here if you pay the slightest bit of attention.
Trip Report
My friend Eric and I decided to pay a visit to this place to see what it's all about. This would be my first official mountain bike trail ride. There really isn't a lot of information online, but what did exist were very positive reviews. Apparently, 15,000 acres has been designated for future expansion. The entire area has been designed, created and maintained by mountain bike enthusiasts from all over the area. It doesn't take long to realize just how well the trails have been designed. There is quite a nice mix of uphill and downhill sections with welcomed breaks of flat areas.
We both had a great time exploring and would recommed these trails to anyone no matter their experience level. The reason why any level rider can enjoy these trails is that all the obstacles were created with an easy bypass option which in most cases flowed more like the standard path. You basically have to make the choice to hit most obstacles instead of trying to avoid them. As a new rider myself, I had no issues with anything and found nothing dangerous unless someone was being absolutely mindless about the whole thing.
