Hunters Bluff - Kentucky Rock Climbing

Description

For years, Hunters was a backyard crag known only by the locals who were developing it. The climbing area is located on private land, but the owner has never denied access. As climbing became more mainstream the area started seeing more use, although still minimal at best. The owner was contacted after the SCC adopted the crag and access is now considered secured, as long as the current owner holds the deed.

The routes run from 30ft to 120ft. It's a small crag, but has some of the finest cracks in the midwest and has the potential for more sport routes and bouldering. There are some excellent trad routes as well, the most famous being Thurmonuclear, a 5.13a roof crack.

Location

There is a small parking area on the southeast side of the small bridge. Follow the forest road and the crag will be on your left.

Facilities

Nothing here. Bring everything you need for your trip or plan to visit Dawson Springs, 5 miles east on US 62. Princeton is also available 8 miles west on US 62.
